When I started Found on Madison years ago (wow I can’t believe I can say years now!), I knew that I wanted to create a platform where my customers could give back. In my personal life, I have tried to be aware of being giving and knowing where I was giving, so it is really important to me that FOM customers know exactly where their 10%+ goes to.
A couple of months ago we did a small giving project for My Father’s Arrows and the feedback was INCREDIBLE! I cannot believe that I 1 even have customers and 2 that they are the BEST, MOST GENEROUS AND THOUGHTFUL PEOPLE EVER!! Really. I am so excited that you guys get excited about our monthly charities!! If you missed the project that we did, we (YOU!) were able to provide a rocking chair glider and 48 towels to Mama’s House – we will get into what that is very soon!
So let’s talk a little bit about My Father’s Arrows and all of the amazing things that they are doing for the community. They are super active on Facebook and give updates on the children, the thrift store, and their needs – give them a follow here: https://www.facebook.com/myfathersarrows/
Here is what you need to know:
They are a faith based, community driven, public charity that helps children in foster care
My Father’s Arrows is an advocate for children – they educate the community, provide support, recruit new caregivers, and so much more! If you have any questions about foster care or adoption, they know the answer! You can give them a call at (850) 675-4403.
They built a home called Mama’s House that is also a farm and a school
They said it best on their website myfathersarrows.org: Situated on 20 rural acres, our Children’s Home, affectionately called “Mama’s House”, is for boys and girls from hard places, ranging in age from birth to 17. This property not only has our Children’s Home, but also a Farm and School for the children. Intuitively old fashioned, Mama’s House reminds us all of that safe place that brings us comfort and makes us feel welcome. The goal of Mama’s House is healing, stability, and sanctuary for the children and families we serve. Mama’s House provides a nurturing, loving Christian home to vulnerable children until it is safe and healthy for them to return to their families, until they find their forever adoptive homes, or until they are ready for independence as equipped young adults.
They have a thrift store that you can shop at
Alright yall!! If you are reading this, then I know you like to shop!! They have a thrift store in Milton, Fl and they are open from Monday through Friday from 9am – 6pm. They have soo many unique items, clothing, furniture, and many things for babies and kids!
You can show off your skills and volunteer
I know that it can be hard to find engaging and accessible volunteer opportunities. Many people want to volunteer but do not know how and may want to do something more exciting than folding brochures or washing laundry – all of which still great things to help out with though! Check out the amazing volunteer opportunities at My Father’s Arrows! Friday Fun Nights?! This has me really wishing that I still lived in Pensacola!!
